18th June 2009 Stars of Stage and Screen On Friday 12th June twelve members of the Southern Knights A Guard took to the stage at The Brighton Dome as part of the annual Family Festival event organised by the community performing arts department of Blatchington Mill School. The packed theatre were entertained to a re-worked version of the WGUK A Class Champions show and received an excellent response from an enthusiastic audience - the vast majority of whom had never seen a colour guard performance before. On the following Sunday (14th June) 30+ members, across all 4 Southern Knights Guards, gathered in Hove to assist with a music video being created for inde group "Windmill" for a track entitled Big Boom taken from their forthcoming album - Epcot Starfields. The video shoot required a road closure for over an hour whilst the lead band member, Matthew Thomas Dillon, performed in a space suit with flags and pom poms surrounding him culminating in confetti canons being set off. You can hear tracks from Windmill, including Big Boom, on their MySpace website http://www.myspace.com/windmillband The video producer, Rupert Noble, commented at the end of the
shoot, "The kids were awesome and we have some fantastic
footage". The album is due for release in September. |
