17th February 2008 The 2008 Season So Far We are almost half way through the 2008 season and all Southern Knights Guards have had the opportunity of showing the judges and public alike what we have to offer in 2008. The Rugrats have continued on their winning ways taking 1st Place at both the Burgess Hill and Colchester contests but there are other units close on their tails so they will continue to work on their Hocus Pocus show over the next few weeks. The Juniors have stepped up a gear from 2007 and have really shone (no pun intended but their show is about the sun) and have taken a 1st Place at Burgess Hill with a close 2nd at Colchester. Things are looking good for this young group this year. The A Class Guard are once again showing their class coming in 2nd at their first contest in Grantham with their Oscars show and then taking the 1st Place title at Burgess Hill. Also they were the top placed UK unit in the A Class at the WGI Euro Regional in Holland winning 3rd Place in their class - an excellent achievement. The Open Class Guard started the season slightly on the back foot missing a number of their "accessories" - the main one being the floor which was misplaced between the USA and UK for nearly 6 weeks! The Guard were placed 3rd at the first show at Grantham and a very close 2nd at Burgess Hill although the 3rd place unit was very close on their heels. In Holland, at the WGI Euro Regional, a very well executed show (with two members absent) only put them in joint 7th place but all the UK units were tightly packed together with just over 3 points between them all. The Chippenham show on 2nd March is the next contest and all 4 units will be attending followed by Burgess Hill again 2 weeks later which will be their final competition prior to the British Championships. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For more details about Southern Knights email: enquiries@southernknights.org.uk
