There climax to the 2007 contest season was on Saturday 31st March at The Brentwood International Centre in Essex and once again the Southern Knights showed what a strong organisation we are coming away with 2 Championships plus a 2nd and 5th place - an excellent all round achievement.

The Rugrats performed their Jazz Club show superbly and were rewarded with their 3rd British Championship win in a row - a magnificent year for these 16 young members and their staff.

The Junior Guard was the one that had made the most improvement in the year and a strong 5th Place for these 15 members was well deserved for their Mountain themed show.

The 8 members of the A Guard had been pushing for a top spot all year but it would depend if they could pull a special performance of their Hotel California show out of the bag  - and boy did they do that take 1st Place in the A Class  - British Champions.

The Open Guard had been at the top of their class all season but they knew they would have their work cut out holding onto it.  The morning Prelims performance put the 18 members in 2nd Place but only by .3 of a point! Their evening Finals show was a superb performance but not quite enough to jump back up and so Runners Up for the second year in a row.

And so the 2007 WGUK season to an end and all 4 shows where productions to be proud of.  Congratulations to all members and staff and thanks to all the supporters. We now look forward to what the 2008 season will bring as welcome new members into the organisation which will take our membership over 60 for the first time in many years.
