Sheffield Contest Report
Another very early start (6am + the clocks went
forward so it was really 5am!!) on Sunday 26th March saw the Junior
and Senior Guards set off for Sheffield for the final contest of the
season prior to the Finals. The day was to bring mixed
fortunes for us but with only two weeks to go until the end of season
hopes were high for good results.
The Cadets confidence has really grown over the
past few weeks and this showed in a much improved performance.
However it appears that the judges didn't agree and the Guard dropped
into 5th Place (out of 5) in the Junior Class. Well done to the
girls for putting on a brave face at the results.
All the main opposition was in attendance in the A
Class and with two/three other guards catching up fast today was to be a
good test for the girls. Once again the 7 girls performed an
extremely well executed show and were rewarded by taking 1st Place (out
of 7) with almost 4 points between them and 2nd.
Following the disappointment in the Junior Class
the long journey home could have been a rather somber affair, however,
we know how to deal with these situations (we've been there before
unfortunately) and the "Grease Party Bus" made its way
down the M1 in full song.
And so the build up to Finals begins - the
Rugrats are seeded 5th out of 6 in the Cadet Class, the Cadets are
seeded 7th out of 9 in the Junior Class and the Seniors are seeded
1st out of 11 in the A Class. All three units will be
putting in that little extra over the next two weeks and look out for
the new members of the A Class!!!
