Mayor
visits rehearsal
On Tuesday 27th
September the Right Worshipful the Mayor of the City of Brighton & Hove, Councillor Anne Meadows,
came along to Blatchington Mill School to visit us. The
visit was organised following a letter sent to the Mayors office
advising of our achievements, not only in 2011 but also over the
past few years.
Cllr Matthews spent
nearly 2 hours with us enabling her to see all 4 units as they
rehearsed and she took time out to talk to the Guard Directors and
was very interested in learning about the winterguard activity
itself as well as our own organisation.
She was accompanied
throughout the visit by Alan Thompson (Southern Knights Chairman)
who stated "It is always nice for the work put in by the
members and staff to be acknowledged and I thank the Mayor for
taking the time out of her busy schedule to come along and support
the work we are doing".
It is possible the
Mayor may be able to attend the Southern Knights organised
Winterguard Contest in Burgess Hill in March next year so she can
see the finished products.
